Blur Video game: Countdown and Vista Shots.

Company: Bizarre Creations/ Activision.

Brief: Activision asked me to create a distinctive and cinematic countdown for Blur — something that would grab the player’s attention and set the tone for the high-energy racing experience.

Outcome:
To achieve this, I used a concept inspired by cinematic letterboxing — the black bars often seen in widescreen films — reimagining them as dynamic elements that open the screen and build anticipation right before the race begins.

To push the cinematic feel further, I incorporated a series of vista shots — wide, stylized views of the environment — adding scale, atmosphere, and a strong sense of place. These shots helped transform the countdown into a narrative-driven moment rather than just a technical start.

Vista Shots: Los Angeles / Arizona Desert / London
